Her awards include an ECPA Silver Medallion Award for Secrets Young Women Keep, Bestselling Author status from Christian Bookseller's Association/CBA Bestseller lists; a Best News Story Award for "Harambe" (Reuters) and a Best News Writing Award for "Ray Tensing/Sam DuBose First Trial" (Reuters) as well as "Best Arts Profile" (Journal-News) "Best Arts Review" (Journal-News) and "Best Rock and Roll Feature Writing" (Journal-News, three years in a row.) In 2018, she earned honors for her work in Journal-News, Reuters and Dayton Magazine. Ginny currently acts as SPJ's Region 4 Coordinator. Ginny is also an SPJ Freelance Community Officer and she serves on SPJ's Membership Committee. Ginny also serves on the CAN board as secretary.
