The Society of Professional Journalists "Excellence In Journalism" - Received 3 awards in 2012, 2013 for Deadline News Reporting, 2014 for Business Beat Reporting. In 2015, First Place Winner for News Reporting and First Place Winner for Feature Reporting. In the 2016 "Ohio's Best Journalism Contest," McCabe received First Place Winner for "Best Rock and Roll Feature Writing" and a second place honor for "Best Arts Reporting." In 2017, she received 6 more honors, including Best News Story Award for "Harambe" (Reuters) and a Best News Writing Award for "Ray Tensing/Sam DuBose First Trial" (Reuters) as well as "Best Arts Profile" (Journal-News) "Best Arts Review" (Journal-News) and "Best Rock and Roll Feature Writing" (Journal-News, two years in a row) in the 2017 Ohio's Best Journalism Awards. Awards in the 2018 "Ohio's Best Journalism Awards" include 7 first and second place awards for her work in Journal-News, Reuters and Dayton Magazine. First place awards include "Best Freelance Writer" (Reuters,) Best News Writing, (Reuters,) Best Investigative Reporting (Reuters,) and Best Arts Review (Dayton Magazine.) Additionally, the Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter was honored with the "Small Chapter of the Year Award" in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2020. The chapter was also recognized as a runner-up for the "Small Chapter of the Year Award" in 2018.
